In accordance with the ACFE 2016 Global Fraud Study (Reports to the Nations on Occupational Fraud and Abuse), asset misappropriation (billing, cash on hand, expense reimbursement schemes) and corruption (invoice kickbacks, purchasing and sales schemes) are by far the most common form of occupational frauds in the region where Turkey stands.

About 6th International Ethics Summit

The 2000’s have paved the way for increased productivity and quality in business processes thanks to the widening globalization and developments in technology. Unfortunately, studies carried out on company culture could not catch up with the speed of globalization and developments in productivity. Examples where some global companies managed with universal principles have given in to local cultural practices have caused the emergence of an ethics crisis. The definition of success has changed in the business world. Not only the amount of the profit, but the way it is obtained, how the wealth is shared and if the business is sustainable or not have come into question.

Just like the flap of a butterfly’s wings that causes a tornado on the other side of the world, an ethics tornado that could be experienced in some outstanding companies of the world could grow and cause a flood that could affect that country or even the global economy

This year, in the sixth year of the Ethics Summit, the ethics crisis has been examined that world famous companies have experienced and try to find out what needs to be done in order to survive a flood together with experienced managers from the business world.

It was discussed not only the efforts for preventing the emergence of the ethics crisis but also the issues that the leaders and senior managers should take into account while managing such a process, the reviewing of company ethics policies after a crisis, and how communication and reputation management should be used by looking at some examples.
