Fikret Sebilcioğlu Spoke at TEİD’s 12th International Ethics Summit
CerebraFikret Sebilcioğlu, Managing Partner of Cerebra and Board Member of TEİD, took part in the summit as the moderator of the panel titled “Two Sides of the Coin: Ethics in Discourse and Ethics in Action”.
The 12th International Ethics Summit, organized by the Ethics and Reputation Society(TEİD), was held on November 4, 2025, at the Hilton Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul under thetheme “Beyond Compliance: The Power of Ethical Intelligence in Reputation Management.”
Fikret Sebilcioğlu, Managing Partner of Cerebra and Board Member of TEİD, took part in the summit as the moderator of the panel titled “Two Sides of the Coin: Ethics in Discourse and Ethics in Action”.
The panel was co-moderated by Gökhan Yılmaz, Partner at PwC Turkey and Board Memberof TEİD. Panel speakers included Aysel Karimli, Deputy Head of Compliance at SOCAR; Bahar Uçanlar, General Manager of Diageo Turkey; and Murat Kösereisoğlu, Country President of Securitas Turkey, who shared their valuable insights.
The discussion explored the integration of ethical values into corporate decision-makingprocesses, the gap between discourse and action, the influence of leadership and corporateculture on ethical behavior, and best practices for embedding ethics into day-to-dayoperations.
During the session, Fikret Sebilcioğlu emphasized the importance of “shame, memory, andconscience.” Referring to the song “Utanmazsan Unutmam” by the Turkish band Adamlar, he noted that “we can carry our conscience throughout our lives like a golden medal.”
Highlighting that the sense of shame reflects a person’s moral capacity, Sebilcioğlu stated:
“When an employee takes responsibility to make the right decision in a difficult moment, it shows that they possess both ethical intelligence and a sense of shame. Making ethicaldecisions is a matter of memory. A person with ethical intelligence learns from both theirown mistakes and those of others, engraves these lessons into their value system, and it is thissense of not forgetting that keeps their commitment to ethics alive.”
