Referring to ACFE data showing that organizations lose an average of 5% of their annual revenues to fraud, Sebilcioğlu noted that the annual cost of fraud in Türkiye is estimated to reach as much as USD 70 billion. Describing fraud as both “the invisible shackle of the economy” and “a hidden tax,” he emphasized that risks within organizations often begin with small exceptions and can gradually become normalized over time.
